Welcome to a great musical adventure at Debra’s Music Lessons!

Dear parent,

Thank you for the honor of teaching your child. You play an important role in this process. At home, you are the teacher as I cannot be there, so the more involved you are, the greater chances of success. .

PRAISE! PRAISE! PRAISE!

No matter how many times you’ve heard, you need to praise their effort!

The more you take an interest, the more they will be encouraged. 

PRACTICE

Here’s some things to remember:

Playing an instrument requires development of muscular coordination and mental concentration. These skills are best acquired by consistent and careful practicing. 

Minimum practice time for young beginners is 20 minutes each day. In general, beginners should practice a minimum of ½ hour each day, intermediate students should practice at least 45 min.–1 hour each day and advanced students are expected to practice 1 hour+ daily.  Practice time may be split into shorter segments throughout the day. 

Having a certain time each day designated as practice time is the best way to get into the habit of consistent practice.

Practice every day - even for 5 or 10 minutes. You can always do more! Give yourself a sticker or star each time you practice.

Daily short practice is much better than one long session a couple times a week.

To ensure success, a parent of a student eight years old or less must attend each lesson with their child and assist them in their practice at home.

MISSED LESSONS

You can find my available times for makeup lessons on Google Calendar. If you will be missing a lesson, all you have to do is contact me to let me know that you will be missing the lesson, then log on to Google Calendar at http://tinyurl.com/DebrasMusicLessonsSchedule. After you select the time that you would like to make up your lesson, let me know and I will reserve the spot for you.

This calendar will be updated frequently.  

In order to be eligible for a makeup lesson you must notify me of the pending absence prior to your scheduled lesson time.  

I don't allow makeups for no shows. 

Makeup lessons are not guaranteed as my schedule is very full and available times for makeup lessons are very limited.

• Monthly tuition is due on the first lesson of each month.
• 30 minute lesson per week - $140 per month.
• The number of lessons per month will vary. Rates are not based on the number of lessons per month. 
• Tuition pays for 42 lessons per year. 
• The 42 lessons per year are divided by 12 months so the monthly rate remains constant. 
• There are no refunds for missed lessons.
